Clinical Hypnotherapist Training Program

Course Syllabus

This training program is divided into three levels: Basic Hypnosis, Advanced Hypnosis and Clinical Hypnotherapy (Certification). All levels include academic and practical hands-on approaches to hypnosis and hypnotherapy. Through demonstrations, live classes and the inclusion of real life case studies students will learn mastery in techniques that are “client-centered” through a teaching method that is diversified and “student-centered.”

This program includes live in class training and supervised practice, self-study via reading and written assignments, 100 hours of supervised practicum, the total training time is just over 1000 hours over 10 months.

  • Tuition fee is $4995.00 (plus applicable taxes).

Basic Hypnosis (Level 100)

The objective of this first basic level is to train the students in the use of modern and classic techniques of hypnosis. Some of the topics covered are:

  • Facts and fallacies about hypnosis
  • History of hypnosis
  • What is hypnosis
  • How hypnosis takes place
  • What hypnosis can and cannot do
  • Trance types
  • Depths of hypnosis
  • Theory of the mind
  • Determining clients’ hypnotic suggestibility
  • Basic inductions
  • Basic deepening techniques
  • Guided Medication Practitioner certification
  • Group participation and in-session practice
  • Written exam

Advanced Hypnosis (Level 200)

The objective of this second advanced level is to train the students in advanced techniques of hypnosis and provide them with a greater understanding of how the Mind works both at a conscious and subconscious level. In this level, the students put theory into practice. A large segment of the training focuses on supervised client work and peer consultation. There will be both a written and practicum examination. A certificate of completion will be issued upon successful completion of this level. Some of the topics and intervention protocols this level will cover are:

  • Advanced deepening techniques
  • Putting together case studies and client planning
  • Belief systems and the family of origin
  • Advanced hypnotic inductions
  • The post-hypnotic suggestion
  • Body syndromes
  • Object imagery therapy
  • The brain
  • Trance levels
  • Ideomotor response
  • Anchoring (NLP)
  • Calibration (NLP)
  • Accessing the positive emotional state
  • De-hypnotize and hyper-suggestibility
  • Basic pain management
  • Fundamentals of hypnoanalysis: The Inner Child
  • Age regression
  • Introduction to forensic hypnosis
  • Understanding “dreams” and hypnosis
  • Introduction to the DSM-5 for Hypnotherapists
  • Supervisor/peer group client consultation
  • Group participation and in-session practice
  • Oral and written exams

Clinical Hypnotherapy Certification (Level 300)

The objective of this final certification level is mastery of protocols and interventions as well as preparedness for private practice. Some of the areas this level will cover are:

  • Analytical and suggestive client-centered approaches
  • Circle Therapy (for PTSD)
  • Parts mediation therapy
  • Corrective therapy
  • Verbalization techniques
  • Visualization and suggestive imagery
  • Free association
  • Trauma work and desensitization
  • Affect bridge therapy
  • Smoking cessation (for different types of smokers)
  • Weight management and control
  • Understanding false memory syndrome
  • Popular therapies such as Cognitive behavioral therapy, Gestalt therapy and Dialectal behavioral therapy and how to apply with hypnotherapy

 

Applied hypnotherapy with specific behaviours, such as:

  • Insomnia
  • Smoking (understanding the different types of smokers)
  • Eating disorders
  • Fears and phobias
  • Pregnancy and childbirth
  • Depression
  • PTSD and complex PTSD
  • Obsessive-Compulsive Behavior
  • Sexual dysfunction
  • Addictions (drug and alcohol)

Final written ARCH certification examination (minimum 80% to pass and be certified)
